Set the holiday table — bloomon style

Festive table settings for the modern flower fan

The dining table is at the heart of the holidays. It’s the place where we gather to celebrate and indulge in two-too-many helpings. Transform your table into a festive floral fantasy with fresh flowers, a modern colour palette, curated details, and handmade crafts that’ll woo anyone who dines at it.

With our holiday bouquet collection, THE GIFT OF STYLE, as the inspiration, we’ve created festive table settings and decor tips to inspire your holiday season. There’s something for traditionalists and modernists from Christmas well into the New Year’s Eve celebrations!

All pink everything

Beyond red and green, the modern festive colour palette sparkles in celebratory champagne-pinks with touches of burnished gold. Pair a minimalistic, monotone tablescape with accents of bronze to make your guest of honour — a medium bloomon bouquet — pop.

Festive fragrance

This is where fresh flowers meet fragrant foliage. A small bouquet lets you and your guests talk without obstruction whilst bringing good tidings by the sleigh load. Eucalyptus sprigs create a fragrant confetti and dry beautifully, meaning you can set the table well in advance. ‘Tis the season to be jolly, after all — even for the host!

Mini vases

Spruce up your table with decorations that shine naturally: fresh winter flowers, like lisianthus, chrysanthemums, scabiosa, and roses. Distribute your favourite stems all over the table in multiple mini vases.

Hand-crafted menu

Entice your hungry guests about the food to come by placing menus on their plates. Craft your own handwritten menu on high-quality card or print them out and tie with brown string, decorated with a fresh flower or sprig of berries.

DIY floral centrepiece

Flowers inside the vase — try this contemporary centrepiece to show-off the season’s offerings: vibrant red Ilex verticillata berries, Evergreen sprigs like pine or holly, velveteen red roses, and delicately pink nerine. Achieve this impressive, yet simple DIY table decoration by first filling the vase with foliage and flowers. Then fill it with water, ensuring the leaves press against the vase so the colour radiates.

Yuletide chandelier

This homemade hanging decoration is a natural way to raise the cosy ambience around your table. Clean your chosen branch well and shake off any loose leaves. Hang the branch with transparent wire from the ceiling. Gently, place some fresh flowers in the branch for an added floral accent. Alternatively, leave the branch au naturale.

By candlelight

Long winter nights ask for warm moments at home. Candles and fairy lights bathe everything in a twinkling, intimate atmosphere. Using fresh flowers and foliage, here’s how to craft simple yet elegant homemade candles for your coffee or dining table.

Take an empty glass bottle, making sure that all labels are removed. Soak bottles in hot soapy water for ten minutes to get rid of any sticky residue.

  1. Fill your glass container one-third with water.
  2. Float a pine or eucalyptus branch on the water. Wax flowers work well as a floral variation.
  3. Last but not least, securely place a long candle in the bottle. Magical!
